Tighter Tummy & Bigger Bum

spot reduction
Question
I have a couple of questions! First how do I burn fat off my stomach? And secondly, is there any way to make my butt bigger without surgery?

Answer
Great questions! Improving those two areas on your body are common concerns and can be done using both surgery and natural techniques! When dealing with fat on your stomach let me point out that we do not burn fat, we remove it. Removing fat from the adominal region can be done by doing liposuction or laser followed by liposuction, which is also known as Smartlipo. To learn more about liposuction services I offer or to glance at before/after photos feel free to look at my gallery here!

As far as increasing the size of your butt without surgery, this can be achieved with squatt exercises! Squats increase the size of your gluteus muscles which would be your best bet if you’re looking to increase your bum size naturally.

If you have any questions or would like to learn more about liposuction or other surgical/non-surgical procedures (and live in or around the Chicago-land area) we would be happy to set up a personal consultation. You may reach us at (847) 657-6884.

Abdominoplasty or Liposuction…which is best?

Tummy Tuck or Lipo
Question:
I had several surgeries for fibroid tumors, polyps and cysts resulting in a hysterectomy. I have an enormous abdomen (probably a lot of scar tissue too) now that I can’t get rid of. Should I pursue abdominoplasty or liposuction?

Answer:
The best way to judge whether an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) or liposuction is best for you would be by taking a look at your situation. Typically when your abdominal skin and subcutaneous tissue rolls over when you sit down, a tummy tuck is needed. When the abdomen has tight skin that bulges from fatty deposits which are diet and exercise resistant, liposuction is the more likely option. The only way to avoid skin removal (tummy tuck surgery) is when we believe that the skin has enough elasticity to shrink after the fat is removed. The best way to know which operation will best meet your expectations is through a personal consultation to evaluate your skin’s elasticity.

Botox…Does it affect your brain?

There have always been a number of questions regarding the safety of Botox and possible side-effects. Now with the recent report released by the Journal of Neuroscience on April 2nd, which studied side effects of botulinum toxin (an active ingredient in botox) those questions are escalating. People are asking “Is Botox Safe?” “Will botox go into my brain?” or simply “What are side effects of Botox?” all of these are common questions and deserved to be addressed.

Lets start with a quick briefing on what Botox is. Botox is a neuro toxin that has been in use since the first in clinical trials in the 80’s then used for patients with severe debilitating muscle spasms beginning in the 90’s. Most recently Botox received FDA approval for cosmetic use to reduce wrinkles around the forehead in 2002. There are a great number of patients that have embraced what Botox has done to reduce their signs of aging. For others who seek alternative methods such as this reader I’ve offered pratical everyday advice to help combat wrinkles the natural way. I applaud the European study and await more research that will evaluate whether Botox may have other positive clinical applications.

Be sure to read up on a recent article by Joan Kron, a health reporter for Allure who wrote “Debunking botox on the Brain” which goes into depth and covers questions that surround the Botox procedure.
