Dr. Laurie Casas expresses her hope that plastic surgery reality shows do not influence people’s decisions to undergo plastic surgery. She says that these shows leave people with unrealistic expectations and impressions, and that

“These shows trivialize cosmetic plastic surgery, and that does such a disservice for the patients….There is no discussion of options, no discussion of risks and benefits, no sense of the length of surgery or the postoperative course.”
