Labiaplasty is a procedure for women who dislike the large size of their labia minora, which may cause discomfort or embarrassment with a sexual partner, discomfort in tight clothes, discomfort practicing sports or discomfort during sexual intercourse. An enlarged labia minora may have developed with age or after child birth or you may have been born with it.
The surgery is relatively minor and not too uncomfortable. It usually is done locally in our doctor’s office and lasts approximately 1 to 2 hours under local anesthesia.
Returning to Normal Life
• Most patients return to work two to four days after surgery.
• Exercise should be avoided for at least 4 weeks.
• Sexual activity should be avoided for 6 to 8 weeks, maybe longer.
