Dr. Laurie Casas answers a reader’s question in www.BreastImplantSafety.org regarding silicone gel implants and revision surgery. Dr. Casas reports that there are no scientific studies that show an association between silicone gel breast implants and systemic disease. She also suggests patients to discuss the pros and cons of imaging procedures with a board certified radiologist. Dr. Casas says that

“[Revision surgeries] should be decided after a careful examination of you and all the facts regarding your previous surgery.”
