Best Thing I Ever Did
I have had man boobs for as long as I can remember. I’m 34 and I finally got up the nerve to ask my primary care doctor for some names. That’s how I found Dr. Laurie Casas, among others. Once I saw her there was no need to look further. She reviewed all my options and discussed my case with my primary care physician. We decided to go with a combination procedure to remove the breast tissue lump on each side and then contour my chest and armpit with liposuction. She offered me an in office procedure under local anesthesia with some sedatives and “music therapy” or a general anesthetic. I was so afraid of the side effects of a general anesthetic and the risks that I decided to go with the office procedure. Well, it’s been 6 months and all is great. The procedure was easy. After the injections to numb the area I fell asleep. When Dr. Casas was finished I sat up to be wrapped up. I had these tiny drains that kept filling up for 1-2 days, which was great because I had minimal swelling. Dr. Casas requires that her patients prepare for surgery with diet and exercise and supplements and then the same after surgery but she also adds manual lymphatic drainage massages which really make the swelling and lumpiness go away by 6 weeks. I cannot believe I waited this long to get this done. Dr. Casas and her staff are amazing! Highly recommend this procedure by her.

I made the decision to have breast implants over a three year period. I had lost most of my breast volume through pregnancy and breast feeding. I postponed the decision until my children were older and I had divorced. As a newly single woman I had become self-conscious about wearing a bathing suit, and I could no longer find a bra that fit.
Dr. Casas was very patient with me…. I had lots of questions! I am very athletic, and wanted to make sure I could resume my physical activities, and that I selected a size that wouldn’t interfere with my active lifestyle.
My surgery was held in the morning, and I was awake and comfortable by 1 that afternoon. I opted to stay in the hospital for two nights. I had told my children I was having shoulder surgery, but still did not want to worry them with my immobility. I was very worried about going under general anesthesia as a parent of young children. Dr. Casas took my anxiety regarding this seriously, and prescribed me anti-anxiety medication to take just prior to and after the procedure. I had never taken anything like this before, but it definitely helped to make me comfortable and relaxed. It was a wise choice. She also gave me a nutrition and vitamin regimine to follow prior to the surgery. The herbal remedies to reduce bruising were amazing…. I never had one bruise!
As a single mom, getting help after the procedure was paramount. My mother and a friend helped me for the first five days when I was not to be alone, but I was very mobile, and was able to get out for school drop off, coffee and even dinner within that five days. By the end of the five days I was no longer on pain medication as well. I had opted for a pain pump, and that seemed to be enough. I had drains as well, which were easy enough to clean and manage. I also had help after school through bedtime for the first two weeks with driving and childcare, as Dr. Casas had instructed me to not lift my arms, prepare dinner, or do anything strenuous. I parked myself on a couch and my kids sat with me as they did their homework and caught me up on their days. It actually was pleasant to sit with them like that in comparision to the hustle-bustle of our normal days of sports, lessons, practices, and carpooling. Dr. Casas called often to check up on me. She was wonderful.
I went to the follow-up appointments and Manual Lymphatic Draininage massage with a friend so I would not have to drive, as I didn’t feel well enough to drive myself for about two weeks. I highly recommend the massage. It really helped to reduce the soreness and swelling. During this time Dr. Casas fit me with a bra and gave me a regimine of exercises, and taught me how to change the bandages. She had me wear an ace bandage tightly across the top of my chest with the bra to create the breast shape. I did this for many weeks, but it was easy enough to conceal this protocol under clothing. The change in the breast shape was gradual, but looked completely natural within 3 months. I had opted to have my incision in the nipple, and these scars are barely visible 6 months post-op. I also opted for saline implants. There is a bit of rippling that is visible because I had such little breast tissue, but Dr. Casas told me of this in advance, and that was a choice I made for myself– saline over silicone. When the time comes to replace them I will re-evaluate that decision.
Six months after my procedure I am so incredibly happy I made this decision! The results are natural, and I am training for the Boston Marathon, so I can attest to the fact that they definitely do not interfere with the sports I so enjoy!

My fiancé and I were going to a tropical location for our honeymoon. We planned this a year in advance and I decided to have the breast augmentation that I always wanted before my wedding. SILICONE BREAST IMPLANTS…. WELL WORTH THE WAIT!!!
Waiting for silicone breast implants was one of the best decisions I ever made. I was approaching 40 years old and was frustrated, embarrassed, and quite frankly disgusted with the state of my breasts. I have always been a competitive athlete; tall and thin and a full B breast size. But, I had 4 children in less than eight years and nursed each baby for a year. Subsequently, my breast tissue was significantly compromised and basically consisted of empty sacks. I am thrilled about the results of my arm lift . I met with Dr. Laurie A. Casas after I had lost 150 pounds! She was so helpful because I had so much extra skin on my arms. Because I had maintained my weight for over a year and I was exercising daily she said we could proceed with the arm surgery. She advised me to work hard on developing my arm and shoulder muscles so that when the surgery was healed I would be proud of my toned arms. I talked to my trainer and we changed my exercise program to do more upper body toning and strengthening. It really paid off!
The surgery took about 3 1/2 hours and when I woke up my arms were covered. I wore a Underarmor long sleeve shirt for six weeks because she wanted me to have less swelling. At 57 I finally got my act together and started to eat well and exercise daily. After having had three children and left with too much extra skin, I consulted Dr. Casas who recommended a body lift which would remove the extra skin, and she would also at the same time create buttock contour with tissue that would normally be discarded.
I decided to do this and I was a little bit nervous but wanted the result so I actually followed through. The surgery went fine, very minimal pain. I stayed in the hospital 2 days for recovery and then I went home. Recovery at home was not complicated. The tiny drains came out in about 3 or 4 days and everything went smoothly.
I was able to go back to a normal routine after 6 weeks! She made sure everything was 200% ready I even scheduled surgery. I am 50 years old and despite regular exercise and eating right, I have always been self-conscious about the cellulite on my buttocks and thighs. I scheduled a consultation with Dr. Laurie Casas who examined me, discussed my expectations, and told me realistically what I could and could not expect from the treatment. At the consultation, I was given a folder with information about the procedure; as well as, a vitamin regimen and a list of foods and medications to avoid prior to the procedure. The doctor explained that following this recommended protocol would help promote healing and lessen the swelling.
The morning of the procedure, the nurses took photos and the doctor marked all of the dimples to be treated. I was a little nervous (maybe more than a little), but was put at ease by Dr Casas kind and knowledgable bedside manner. Her nursing staff was also wonderful. The procedure took about an hour and was performed in the doctor’s surgical suite.
First, the doctor applied a surgical type vacuum to my buttocks. I felt a slight tugging on my skin from the vacuum followed by a little pinch where the lidocaine was injected. On a scale of 1-10, I would say it was a 1 or 2. This was done several times until I was numb. After that, my only sensation during the procedure was a slight pressure to the skin—I did not feel any pain.
When the procedure was done, Dr Casas applied a sterile dressing and gave me a compression garment to wear. I was advised to wear a compression type garment for the next two weeks. My Spanx were good for this.
The first night, I had some drainage and discomfort. On a scale of 1-10, I would say my discomfort was a 3-4. I took Tylenol to help with the soreness. The drainage subsided by the next morning. I continued to wear the doctor’s compression garment through the weekend. I was able to do all of my regular activities except lower body exercise (per the doctors instructions).
I was bruised and slightly tender for about 10 days post procedure. After the bruising subsided, I was amazed at the results! I highly recommend Dr. Casas and Cellfina to anyone who is ready to get rid of those unsightly dimples.

I went to see Dr. Casas on the recommendation of my gynecologist because she said that Dr. Casas was a perfectionist. I had been living with a problem that I really didn’t know could be corrected but I was so relieved to know that I was not the only person who had excess labia that were constantly irritated by my underwear and pants. I’m only 18 yrs old and I play lots of high school sports. Ever since I can remember, my labia have hung so low that they are always sore from rubbing against my underwear. I went to see my Gyne and she told me about Dr. Casas. I went to see her and it was such a relief to know that I was not the only person with this problem. She wanted me to have a great diet to help me heal fast. She also wanted me to take vitamins to help the healing. She explained that after surgery I had to take really good care of the incisions so they would heal. I am a 49 year old health care professional. I am 54 years old. I had a facelift at the age of 40. I have a small face and thin skin, this does not age well. I was very happy with my facelift but, over the years it has begun to sag. I consulted my surgeon who explained that my face was not quite ready for this but if my neck and jawline were bothering me, he could do a neck-lift. I was successful in my career. I had a great family, fabulous friends, terrific kids. And I had a bump on the bridge of my nose and I know it sounds petty but I couldn’t get past it! I couldn’t stand the shape of my nose.

It was time. Time to do something about the fur on my back. If one more person called me Wolfman I thought I’d swear off beaches forever. I hated taking my shirt off in public. I am so glad that I had Laser Hair Reduction on my legs. After years of spending time and money shaving with razors, making appointments & spending money on waxing (ouch), I realized what a smart investment it would be to do laser hair reduction and not have to worry about my stubbly legs.
Dr. Casas evaluated me for the procedure first and wanted to be sure that I would be a candidate since it doesn’t work for blond, red or grey hair. Her office is very clean and professional; they give you a detailed protocol so you know exactly what to expect. For example, you can’t use lotions on your treatment day and you shouldn’t tan for a few weeks after etc. I felt very cared for – it definitely was ‘clinical’ and safe. My treatment plan was for 6 sessions at 6 weeks apart (I’m pretty hairy!)! Each session was about a half hour and I just brought my I pod and listened to music while my legs were treated. It was not painful at all and I just had to avoid suntanning for 2 weeks but otherwise, it was no big deal. I have one more session to go and I’m thrilled!!! I had been seeing Dr. Casas for years and receiving Botox and Dysport injections on a regular basis. One day she asked me if I wanted to try Xeomin® (there was a promotion going on in her office). Because I trust her completely and it was a good price, I agreed to try it. She explained that it is in the same category as Dysport and Botox, and she has many years injecting and teaching so I didn’t worry! I was curious if it would be different.
It took effect quickly! I was very pleased – I saw a difference in my “11” lines between my eyebrows in 2 days. I was impressed with Dr. Casas the day I saw her for an initial consultation. She spent a lot of time doing both an exam/evaluation as well as answering questions in the calm environment of her personal office. Although Dr. Casas is very busy, she never made me feel like she was rushed or didn’t have time for me. What absolutely blew me away about Dr. Casas was the fact that she encouraged me to send any questions I might have to her personal email address. She personally responded to each of them quickly — always within 24 hours, but usually within 2-3 hours!! That kind of responsiveness is rare and really meant so much to me at a time when I was nervous that I was doing or would do something wrong after my surgery. Dr. Casas’ office staff are also top-notch! Jenny Day, Dr. Casas’ office manager, is truly one of the kindest people I have ever met. She, too, spends as much time with patients as they need. Although not a nurse, Jenny is very knowledgeable about every aspect of Dr. Casas’ practice. She is very helpful when it comes to answering questions and also connects patients with a nurse or PA when appropriate.
