Dr. Laurie Casas is quoted in an article posted by Merge Magazine in a discussion about running a successful medical aesthetic practice, titled “Voices of Experience”. Merge asks,
“What one pearl learned since your residency has been most helpful to running your practice?”
Dr. Casas says,

Question:
In recent photographs, I noticed that it looks like I have a double chin or excess skin under my neck. I’m only 37! Am I ready for a Facelift/Necklift? Is there anything I can do to eliminate the turkey neck look?
Answer:
Yes. There is a relatively simple, outpatient minimally invasive surgical procedure called Liposuction of the Neck. It is perfect for people whose skin elasticity is still intact yet you have a little sagging along and under the chin area and are not quite ready for a Necklift. I have performed hundreds of these procedures on men and women aged 20 to 65.
People show signs of aging differently and it is the skin condition, not the age of the patient, that determines if one is a good candidate for this surgery.
Typically, it is performed on an outpatient basis in the hospital under a twilight anesthesia (not general) on a Friday and the patient can be back to work or normal activities on Monday!
I highly recommend it for those seeking a safe, reliable method to improve your neck and jawline and feel years younger!

“Dr. Laurie Casas, a Chicago-area aesthetic surgeon, was one of the few female surgeons who had a visible role in the conference leadership this year. Casas, who is president of the Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation, says the gender divide in ASAPS is easily explainable… Why an estimated 94 percent of Casas’ surgery patients are female requires a more complicated explanation.”
