AM I A CANDIDATE FOR BBL HERO™
After a thorough evaluation, you and Dr. Casas will decide what short and long-term plan best suits your skin concerns, your lifestyle, your time commitment and your budget to reverse the signs of sun damage and aging, and very importantly, to prevent unnecessary signs of aging. A customized combination of options will be recommended. These will always include an individualized skin care regimen and sometimes, other energy-based treatments for skin tightening. At this evaluation and during all your treatments, Dr. Laurie Casas and her team are available to discuss non-surgical, minimally invasive, and surgical procedures that may help to achieve your goals.
Prior to each BBL HERO™ treatment and to obtain optimal results, Dr. Casas and her team will recommend a daily skin care protocol 1-2 weeks before the laser procedure and a maintenance skin care regimen. Immediately after a treatment with BBL HERO™, you may experience some redness that resolves within a few hours and darkening of pigmented spots that scab and fall off in 3 to 7 days. The tiny vessels in the treated area become pale and then the skin returns to normal appearance in 10-14 days. It is important to note that if you have had recent prolonged sun exposure and your skin color is darker from that exposure, it is best to wait until you have been out of the direct sun for 1-2 weeks to avoid excessive and prolonged healing time.

BBL HERO™ (Broadband Light High Energy Rapid Output) is Scitons newest laser technology which includes 9 wavelength filters in one handpiece which allows for the skin treatment to be done quickly and efficiently. It has 4x the speed, 3x the peak power and 2x the cooling power which allows the patient to have a fast-comfortable treatment. This advanced cooling technology allows for safe and comfortable treatments and this thermoelectric monitoring system adjusts the temperature of your procedure for comfort. IPL devices have one wavelength per handpiece requiring changing handpieces for pigment and vascular skin concerns and requires a stamping process for each pulse delivered which takes a longer time to complete the treatment.
FOREVER YOUNG BBL HERO™ safely delivers different wavelengths of light to targeted tiny blood vessels and pigment spots by forcing the hemoglobin in the tiny vessels and the melanin in the pigmented age spot to absorb the light energy and heat and damage the spots without damaging the surrounding skin. BBL works by heating the top layer of the skin and therefore promoting collagen regeneration using photo rejuvenation therapy. Increased collagen production leads to the skin regaining elasticity and firmness.
