Restylane® Lyft for Cheek Volume Enhancement and Non-surgical Cheek Lift
Restylane® Lyft formally known as Perlane® is the first and only FDA-approved filler indicated to provide fullness to cheeks and add volume to correct and smooth smile lines (nasolabial folds). Restylane® Lyft is a hyaluronic acid filler with a large particle size that treats midface contour deficiencies when injected into the deep dermis. Clinical Results with Restylane® Lyft Injections
Perlane® which was FDA approved in 2007 for placement into the mid-deep dermis for treatment of nasolabial folds is now FDA approved and renamed as Restylane® Lyft for cheek augmentation by placement into the deep dermis and superficial subcutis into the midface. In clinical trials, patients were injected with an average of 6.227 ml of Restylane® Lyft to their midface and cheek area which included an initial injection and then a 2 week touch up injection. 98% of the patients reported satisfaction with Restylane® Lyft at 2 months and 72% reported satisfaction at 12 months post treatment. The patients reported that their cheeks looked smooth and attractive after the 12 months. The most common adverse events observed in the trial included tenderness, redness, bruising, swelling and itching. These events decreased in severity over time and most were resolved within 2 weeks.
What to Expect
Restylane® Lyft is is an in office treatment and every attempt is made to reduce any pain associated with the procedure. To keep you as comfortable as possible, topical agents are applied as well as ice or anesthetic injections to the areas of concern. After the procedure, patients typically experience minimal discomfort and mild side effects such as bruising, and they are able to immediately return to normal activities. Patients are advised to discontinue blood thinning medications and foods like ibuprofen, aspirin, Vitamin E, Fish oil, alcohol and chocolate 2 weeks before the procedure. After your initial injection session and a touch up at 2 weeks, your results are expected to last up to one year.
