MiraDry is the only non-invasive, FDA cleared aesthetic treatment that safely removes underarm sweat and odor glands and 60% underarm hair growth.  It’s a quick in-office procedure that provides a solution for underarm sweat and odor regardless of the haircolor.

You are born with approximately 2 million sweat glands throughout your body. Your underarms only contain about 2% of those glands.     You will experience the many benefits of stopping sweat in the underarm area, but you will continue to sweat elsewhere.      In addition, a  Miradry treatment has the added benefit of eliminating the need for antiperspirants.

MiraDry’s proprietary miraWave technology is the ideal wavelength for eliminating sweat and odor glands as well as hair follicles in the underarm.    It non-invasively targets the area where the sweat glands reside and safely destroys them while simultaneously cooling your skin for added comfort.

Reasons for Miradry:

Perspiration can damage clothing, leaving stains and lingering odors.   This can lead to expensive dry cleaning bills, and a lifetime of deodorant expense and concerns regarding the use of aluminum products near the breast.    Now you can protect your clothing investment with MiraDry.     Feel fresh, clean and carefree all day knowing you have underarm stains and odor under control!   Another lifelong benefit is freedom from potential toxins present in most antiperspirant deodorants.
The Miradry procedure offers lasting efficacy, minimal downtime with a strong safety profile.    As such, it has the highest patient satisfaction of non –invasive procedures according to Realself.com
Miradry Results:

Miradry’s breakthrough non-invasive technology is based on extensive scientific research and five years of research and development, including a major long-term clinical study conducted by leading dermatologists across the United States.   Because sweat glands do not regenerate1 after treatment,
you can expect immediate and lasting results .      Recent clinical information confirms an average of 82% sweat reduction in most patients.    As with any aesthetic treatment,  results will vary by person.   However, as with any aesthetic treatment, your physician will determine the best protocol for your expected results.

Age and Contraindications for Miradry:

The miraDry System is indicated for use of treatment of primary axillary (underarm) hyperhidrosis in adults 18 and over.     It is not to be used to treat hyperhidrosis elsewhere on the body, including the hands and feet.  It is contraindicated for patients with heart pacemakers and other electronic device implants as well as patients who need supplemental oxygen or with known resistance to or history of intolerance of local anesthesia including lidocaine and epinephrine.

What to Expect from Consultation to Procedure:

When you first meet with Dr. Casas, she will determine if you are a candidate and answer any questions you may about this innovative, FDA cleared technology.    Dr. Casas will also outline a pre-treatment and post-treatment plan to minimize swelling and bruising & to hasten the recovery process.

There is minimal preparation!    Once you arrive to the office on the procedure date, local anesthesia is administered to the underarms prior to the treatment to assist in increasing comfort.    There are no incisions or cuts. Treatment is customized to each underarm with multiple placements of the miraDry handpiece and takes approximately 75 minutes.   This includes numbing the area for maximum comfort, as well as prepping and treating the sweat glands that cause odor and stains.   Since local anesthesia is administered to the underarm prior to treatment, most patients experience little to no pain.    In fact, most patients rated treatment pain on an average score of 2 on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 = no pain, 10 = worst pain).       You can return to normal activities (such as work or school) immediately.     You may experience swelling, numbness, bruising and sensitivity in the underarm area for several days post-treatment.   Most patients experience minimal downtime and exercise is typically resumed within several days.      Immediately after treatment, you will be free of underarm sweat!
